We make our garments in a responsible way for the environment and communities.

High-value product
People love fashion because it’s all about creativity and self-expression. At the same time, it is estimated that the textile industry consumes around 132 million tonnes of coal and more than 6.000 billion litres of water a year. (Rupp, Jurg, "Ecology and Economy in Textile Finishing," Textile World)
That’s why we’re committed to combining our strong creative drive with an environmentally friendly approach. Innovation in the name of sustainability allows us to come up with new solutions today without creating problems for future generations, encouraging us to develop better products by using materials and production processes that do good.
Responsible and transparent production
We make transparent, responsible choices along the entire production chain and these also involve our relationships with our suppliers. We select these suppliers using strict social and environment parameters, defined in a Code of Conduct that introduces binding guidelines for environmental and social performance. This is not so much a simple list of directives, but rather, it is a shared responsibility that creates a virtuous cycle for everyone, since it contributes in particular to improving working conditions, with positive effects on the local communities.

In addition to the tests we perform ourselves, we also certify the absence of harmful chemicals by applying the Oeko-Tex 100 standard to more than 30 million garments each year, focusing on kidswear and underwear in particular.

During 2019, OVS S.p.a. performed over 700 inspections at our suppliers: these checks allow us to certify the safety of items for both those who make them and those who buy them.

We not only check to ensure our supply chain meets requirements, we also inspect the quality and safety of the products that it helps us to create. All of our products undergo more than 20000 physical and chemical tests to ensure they comply with the limits we have set concerning the use of potentially dangerous substances.

Kids creative lab
Kids Creative Lab is an educational project for primary school children in Italy and is promoted by OVS in collaboration with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and WWF Italy. This free initiative offers schools tools, multidisciplinary insights and all the information necessary to organise a creative workshop at school. The aim is to stimulate children’s creativity, aid the introduction of various disciplines and present important and current topics. The most important is that of sustainability, as in the project “C'è di mezzo il mare” from the 2019/2020 edition. The title refers to the old popular Italian saying “there is an ocean between what is said and what is done”, to encourage children to not only “say” but also “do” something personally to protect our Planet, encouraging them to seek creative and innovative solutions to the problem of plastic in nature.
Bullisno
'BullisNO' is a social project founded by OVS to combat bullying and cyberbullying in collaboration with FARE X BENE, an association that supports, promotes and protects the inviolable rights of human beings. The project is aimed at teachers and parents and provides them with the tools necessary to face the complex task of education and to manage the effects of bullying and cyberbullying.
